Water Skiing

The main water ski season runs from April to the end of October, weather permitting, and every evening except Thursdays. We run a Malibu iRide ski and wakeboard boat. The boat is available for members and their guests – no other power boats (other than the Sailing Club safety boat) are allowed on the water. The ski boat can only be driven by approved club drivers, a list of which is posted in the club house and on this site.

Members can become boat drivers if they so wish, by taking instruction and driving whilst accompanied by an experienced driver, before being passed out. Yorkshire Water Ski Club is a BWS approved boat driving test center and any member of the public can arrange to take the written and practical test by paying the appropriate fee.

The club caters for the extremes of skiing competence and there are BWS qualified ski instructors available to teach beginners as well as coach to tournament standard. Club equipment, wetsuits, skis and lifejackets, are available to loan free of charge so that newcomers have no capital outlay until they decide that they wish to take things more seriously. There is a training boom for teaching beginners which virtually guarantees that you will ski on your very first lesson!
